Aristides Paris (Tito Paris)

Tito Paris is a Cape Verdean musician, composer and singer, born on May 30, 1963, in the city of Mindelo, on the island of São Vicente. Based in Lisbon, he is one of those responsible for spreading the music of the Morabeza islands throughout the world, as well as being an important figure in the African community in the capital.

Born into a family with many elements dedicated in some way to music, he soon began to wander around the bars of his hometown in search of it. He learned his first chords on the guitar from his sister. He played with his brothers and cousin Bau, who would also become famous. He was influenced by musicians such as clarinetist Luís Morais and pianist Chico Serra.

At the age of nineteen, he went to live in Lisbon, at the request of Bana, another sounding name for the music of Cape Verde, who wanted him to play in his musical group Voz de Cabo Verde. At the time, he thought he was going to play bass, but ended up being invited to play drums. He was about to refuse and return to Cape Verde, when Bebeto - the bassist of the group - left and ended up being invited to replace him. He played in the group for four years, after which he began to pursue a career in his own name, becoming one of the best known Cape Verdean musicians in Lisbon, with constant requests from his countrymen and also from Portuguese musicians, such as Rui Veloso.

He released and produced his first album in 1987, an instrumental work that highlights his virtuosity as a guitarist. Later, he formed his own group, with which he recorded the album "Dança Ma Mi Criola". In 1996, he released the album "Graça de Tchega". Later he released two live works and, in 2002, a new studio work called "Guilhermina". His works are on sale all over the world, from New York to Paris, promoting Cape Verdean music and his talent as an instrumentalist and as a singer.
From 2007 to 2008, he animated the night of Lisbon with a concert at Terreiro do Paço.
