Born in Mindelo, São Vicente, on October 6, 1959.
A press professional, he graduated in journalism from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, in December 1986.
Among other functions, he was editor of Culture and Economy at the "Voz di Povo" from 1987 to 1992, when the same newspaper was extinct.
Former columnist of the newspaper "Terra Nova" is a member of the editorial team of the newspaper "A Nação" and correspondent in Cape Verde of the BBC and the newspaper "Público".
In 1997 he launched his first book, "Cape Verde, The Behind the Scenes of Independence", a work built on interviews with more than 100 Cape Verdean, Guinean and Portuguese personalities, through a confrontation of paths and testimonies, interspersed with documentary and bibliographic sources.
Other works by the author: "Aristides Pereira - Minha Vida, Nossa história", published in 2012 and "Onésimo Silveira - Uma vida, Um mar de histórias" published in 2016.
